Members from Local 2856 (Kootenai Fire) and 1494 (Coeur d' Alene Fire) attended the first meeting of the Inland Northwest Champter of F.O.O.L.S (Faternal Order of Leatherheads Society).  We are taking member applications from the 1st District -Contact Kenny Peterson for information.  The focus will be on Honor Guard, Pipes & Drums, and various types of training.

Dear Fellow Firefighter,

I want to welcome you to the Fabulous 1^st District.  Currently, our district has 9 out the 29 Locals within our state which represent 210 of the 1031 brothers/sisters.  The 9 locals are located in 4 North Idaho Counties.  From the furthest in the South being Lewiston L1773, West Shoshone L2034 in the East, Kootenai L2856 in the West, Sandpoint L2319 up North and CDA L710, Northern Lakes L4045, Spirit Lake L4336, Timberlake L4483 and Sagle L3724 in the middle.

The 1^st District is unique for two reasons.  The distance between the locals is several 100 square miles and the variety of membership levels.  We have Locals with as few as six members and Locals with as many as 54.  Each local has specific needs or wants that need to be addressed.

My job is to represent those needs of each member for each Local.  That is accomplished with communication, trainings, meeting and socializing.  It’s the responsibility of each brother/sister to get involved with the 3 organizations; your local, the PFFI and the IAFF.  This is not a job, this is not a career, it’s a lifestyle.  Once you understand the history of the organizations and work to better our future you will be “Livin the Dream”.
