Boise firefighter Mark Austin was the top finisher (among Treasure Valley competitors) at the 19th annual Scott Firefighter Stairclimb and fundraiser, held in Seattle. He scaled 69 stories and 1,311 steps of Seattle's tallest building in 13:36.75. Meridian firefighter Katie Mallaburn, Boise, was the top local female competitor, completing the task in 25:42.90.

The 2010 climb honored Hodgkin lymphoma patient Audra Rajsich, the sister of Boise firefighter Kyle Rajich. He finished 23rd overall, clocking a time of 13:53.80.

Forty-four Treasure Valley firefighters, including 25 from the Boise Fire Department, competed in the annual event that included firefighters from across the United States, Canada, Germany and New Zealand. Firefighters from 256 competing departments have raised more than $500,000 so far this year to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
